Recently, the eyes of the world were turned toward Great Britain where people celebrated the royal marriage of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. For the special day, several British automakers donated vehicles to be used during the ceremonies. Notable among them was a unique offering from Jaguar: the Jaguar E-Type Zero.

A prototype version of the iconic E-Type sports car, the E-Type Zero uses a 295-horsepower 40-kilowatt-hour electric engine. Leaving the ceremonies at Windsor Castle, the couple drove the E-Type Zero to the wedding's reception at the nearby Frogmore House.

While the E-Type Zero isn't available as a consumer product, it serves as a great example of what Jaguar can do. Drivers hoping to take home an electric-equipped Jaguar of their own can instead look forward to the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE. Set to release later this year, the I-PACE will offer a powerful SUV driving experience complete with all the benefits of a fully electric car.

Available in three trims when it releases, it will pack a 90-kWh engine with a full-charge range of 240 miles. Capable of 395 horsepower and 512 pounds-feet of torque, it will be able to go from zero to 60 miles per gallon in 4.5 seconds.
